You create Ads using Google AdWords. There are different types of URL’s in Google AdWords that advertisers must know. Here in this article, you will learn the different types of URL’s and their uses.
Display URL is a website address that shows in your ad in text ads. It appears in Green colour next to “Ad” icon. Here comes the example
Whereas in standard text ads you define the display URL. if you want to display a sub domain (abc.odmt.in). It also accepts the subdomain. your display URL can include the subdomains
Whereas in expanded text ad you will be having an option called display path having two path fields of 15 characters limits
Landing Page URL:
Landing page URL is a page URL in your website address where advertisers wants customers to be landed on a specific page
Your landing page URL has two components they are
Final URL: Final URL is nothing but the URL of a page of your website address that people reach when they click your ad. Many advertisers follow the landing page URL as a final URL
Tracking Template: If you use tracking, you can also define a tracking template. When someone clicks on your ad, your tracking template is used to create your landing page URL.
Your ad should give clarity to the customers that what they are clicking and where they reach after clicking. In order to do this Google has put some rules and restrictions that both display URL and landing page URL domain should be the same. If your display URL domain is different from landing page URL google doesn’t accept this because some might bring traffic to their website by putting famous websites as their display URL
Example: If your display URL is odmt.in and your landing page is URL is something around odmt.in/AdWords then the google accepts this because both having the same domain name
