What is Google Analytics?
Google Analytics is a website Analytics tool offered by Google for free to track the website by owners.
Google Analytics provides how much traffic website is generating, source of traffic, how much time they spent on website, their landing pages, number of visitors converted to customers etc., to owners of website.
To know these all you don’t need to install any software or plugin, you just copy and paste a snippet provided by Google Analytics in your website.
What is the importance of web Analysis?
Web analytics is important to improve your website. It provides you website visitor’s data so can you optimize your website according to users interest.by using this we can come to know that what users are doing on your website. So that you can take steps to improve website traffic.
Process to Set up Google Analytics for WordPress
To track your website first of all you have to
- Login to your Google Analytics account
- Click on Admin Tab
- Click on Add New Property
- Give Website Name,Website URL,Select Category and click on Get Tracking Category.
- It displays a Google Site Tag (gtag.js)
- Copy and Paste in your website Header.
What we can track in Analytics?
In Google Analytics you can know the number of users coming to your website, from there they are coming, which device they are using, their age gender, time they are spending, on which pages they are spending etc.,
Even you can track how traffic is coming to your website, like from Organic traffic or by Google Ads or Social Media like Facebook, Quora, twitter, Linked in or Referral traffic etc.,
How Google Analytics helping website owners?
Google Analytics is helping the website owners to develop their website as user friendly. It helps to develop their strategies to increase their traffic, landing page experience, to achieve great bounce rate, to increase customer spent on website, to increase visitor session, on which page more traffic is landing, exit page, customer behaviour, traffic channels(direct, organic, referral, social etc.,), user retention, even website owner can set goals for his website (for e-commerce websites goal is buying a product, for blogging websites filling a contact form is a goal etc.,) and can insert cookies in visitors’ website to follow wherever he go.

In Google Analytics we have different elements like Real time, Audience, Acquisition, Behaviour, Conversions, Goals,Funnel visualisation,E-commerce, Multi-channel funnels, attribution etc.,
